01Scope and responsibility
This Privacy Policy explains how the Argmax operator identified in the Legal Notice (“Argmax”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit our website, request beta access, use the Service, or connect a third-party account.
For personal data used to operate Argmax, Argmax acts as the controller. When we process content and audience information only on your instructions—for example, importing a VOD or transferring chat into captions—we may act as a processor on your behalf.
02Data we collect
We limit collection to data reasonably necessary for the feature you choose, account security, legal compliance, and reliable operation. Depending on how you use Argmax, we collect:
- Registration and account data: email address, optional display name and profile image, beta application status, legal-document acceptance versions, account status, and authentication identifiers. We do not request a postal address, telephone number, date of birth, or payment-card details for the free beta.
- Connected-platform data: account or channel identifiers, profile details, authorisation tokens, permissions, and data made available through the platform integration.
- Content and metadata: VODs, video, audio, thumbnails, chat, captions, titles, descriptions, tags, timestamps, publishing settings, and generated or edited outputs.
- Usage and technical data: workflow events, IP address, request and security logs, diagnostics, and the limited device or browser information contained in ordinary requests. The public website does not run a behavioural analytics tracker.
- Communications: support requests, feedback, and other messages you send us.
We receive data directly from you, automatically from your use of the Service, and from platforms you choose to connect.
03How we use data
We use personal data to:
- review beta requests, create accounts, and authenticate users;
- import, process, prepare, and publish content according to your instructions;
- operate integrations and maintain the state of your workflows;
- provide support and communicate about access, security, and material service changes;
- detect abuse, troubleshoot errors, protect accounts, and keep the Service reliable;
- measure feature reliability from first-party operational events and improve Argmax; and
- comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your private content to advertise third-party products to you.
04Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar law applies, we rely on one or more of these legal bases:
- Contract and pre-contract steps to review your request, provide the Service, and carry out workflows you initiate.
- Legitimate interests to secure, maintain, analyse, and improve Argmax, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent where required, including for optional connections or non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligations where we must retain, disclose, or otherwise process data under applicable law.
05Connected platforms
When you sign in with or connect a service such as Twitch, Google, or YouTube, that provider sends us information and permissions you approve. Argmax uses those permissions to perform the features you request, such as reading channel data, importing content, or publishing an output.
The provider handles your data under its own privacy policy. You can revoke Argmax’s access from the provider’s account settings or through available Argmax controls. Revocation does not automatically delete data already processed by Argmax; you may contact us to request deletion.
06How data is shared
We may share personal data with:
- service providers that support hosting, object storage, authentication, content processing, security, and transactional communications under contractual safeguards;
- connected platforms when you ask us to retrieve or publish content;
- professional advisers and authorities where reasonably necessary to protect rights, investigate abuse, or comply with law; and
- a successor organisation in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice requirements.
We do not let service providers use personal data for their own independent marketing.
07International transfers
Argmax and its providers may process data in countries outside your own. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we use a lawful transfer mechanism where required, such as an adequacy decision or approved Standard Contractual Clauses, together with appropriate supplementary safeguards.
08Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including to provide the beta, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Retention depends on the data and context. Account records generally remain while your account is active. Temporary processing objects are configured to expire after one day; worker scratch files are removed after a terminal or retrying attempt. Local countdown-detection cache entries older than 30 days are ignored. Source content and durable outputs remain until you delete them or close the account, subject to documented backup cycles, security logs, legal holds, and deletion delays required for system integrity. Beta applications may be kept while the beta is active and for a limited period afterward.
09Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration, and disclosure. No online service is completely secure, so you should use a strong authentication method, protect your connected accounts, and keep independent copies of important content.
10Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of your personal data; receive certain data in a portable format; object to particular processing; and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and legal exceptions may apply.
To exercise a privacy right, email [email protected]. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
11Cookies
Argmax currently uses only browser storage necessary for sign-in, request security, an OAuth redirect you initiate, and local countdown-detection caching. The public website does not use analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking technologies.
Names, purposes, safeguards, and retention periods are listed in the Cookie Policy. If we introduce non-essential technology, it will remain off until consent is obtained where required.
You can control cookies through your browser, but blocking essential storage may prevent parts of the Service from working.
12Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
13Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Argmax, our integrations, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we use personal data, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
